Vaastu - Science of Directions
Vaastu
The word Vaastu has been derived from the word ‘Vastu’, which means object or any tangible item. The knowledge related to different objects in our surrounding further defines as ‘Vaastu shastra’ or science of Vaastu. Acharya Vinod says “it is very common belief among most of the people that Vaastu is related to the architecture of the house or premises, but in true sense this subject is related to each and every object which all lays there”. This science is as old as human civilization, as from the excavation work it is found that most ancient civilization are also has some or major references of this science. As per geologists it is the subject that is related to the magnetic force and its affect on different objects. Every country has different pattern of following the rules mentioned in the subject, also it isn’t necessary that all the rules mentioned would be same for each and every country throughout the globe. As per Acharya Vinod before following the rules of Vaastu, one should always keep thorough reference of the geographical positioning of the place/country and modify the rules accordingly.
The principles of Vaastu had been explained in ancient Hindu scriptures like Skanda Purana, Agni Purana, Garuda Purana, Vishnu Purana, Bruhatsamhita, Kasyapa Shilpa, Agama Sastra and Viswakarma Vaastushastra. The main source of Vaastu is Sun, because that is source of energy & life on earth. Our planet is 408 crore year old and wandering in the unending universe for the same span. Sun holds the earth through its magnetic field so that earth revolves around, the sages thousand of years back researched these phenomenons and transformed into a subject which is now better known as Vaastu.
