Ranjha left home and arrived in Heer's village. Heer was very beautiful daughter of a wealthy person in the Sayyal clan. The magical flute played by Ranjha mesmerized Heer and she fell in love with him. He worked in Heer’s house as a cattle herdsman to tend the cattle. Heer & Ranjha kept meeting with each other for many years secretly until Heer's jealous uncle, Kaido, and her parents caught them and Heer was married to another man, Saida Khera.Ranjha became an Ascetic or saint and started moving round from village to village of Punjab singing the religious songs in the praise of God. During his travel he reached the village of Heer. Heer was still true to her love and waiting for him. Both of them ran away to the forest. But they were tricked by Heer’s parent into calling them back with a promise to marry them. However on the wedding day Ranjha was killed and Heer was poisoned by her uncle Kaido.
